How often do you hear people wishing for more time? There just doesn’t seem to be enough time to do or accomplish all that we want.
What most of us lose sight of is that more time isn’t the end result we’re looking for. What we’re longing for are abundant, peaceful, and vibrant lives with more flexibility, less struggle and more sanity.
We want more freedom, great relationships and more fun. How does adding more things to a “to do” list add quality, adventure, or joy to your day or your life?
Mastering time for many means spending more time on controlling or rearranging the activities in our lives. Most of us continue to work on our symptoms, missing insight and clarity about the underlying issues and causes of our seemingly limited options.
Our struggle has little to do with having enough time or money. It’s about having a self-limiting Belief System! That same B.S. reinforces our limited perspective and convinces us we’re not worthy enough to get what we want.
The reason people don’t finish their tasks is not because they don’t know how to, are flawed, or don’t have time. It’s because they don’t want to. It’s because their internal guidance system is saying, “Enough!” - the underlying unconscious message being, “if you don’t start taking care of me, I’m not going to take care of you”!
The interesting thing is that time is all we have and we each have the same amount of it. Focusing on not having enough is a symptom and a sure way of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What we’re really missing is the ability to develop the conscious awareness (through curiosity, introspection, and experimenting) of the vast number of options in life to choose from and then acquiring and learning processes that will allow us to integrate more of those options into our lives.
There is a natural rhythm to life. Our purpose is to find our own and learn to dance with it. It’s not to beat ourselves up because we’re not completing our “to do” list or not getting enough done. It’s about wasting our precious now moments thrashing ourselves. Truly, a waste of time!
Instead of focusing on what isn’t getting done, why not shift your perspective and begin to focus on things that are energizing, things that you appreciate or love? By getting more in tune and connected with the underlying truth of what works for each of us long-term, we will find ourselves revitalized, relaxed, refreshed and refocused.
Who knows, maybe the struggling will vanish. Also! Maybe you could wind up with more quality time just for you!
